A lot has happened in the last 17 years. Our online store as you see it today has not much in common with the one that was launched in 2007.
With a small warehouse in Hornstein in Burgenland, we were then the first online store for Rowan yarns in Austria and had a small farm store there.

With the following many years of experience in shipping, the positive customer feedback and the constantly increasing assortment, the desire for more customer proximity and personal exchange arose.

Larger storage capacity became necessary and we found it in Wiener Neustadt.

Here we have a nice salesroom and are open three times a week:

Wollerei farm store 2009

Instead of via Grazer Straße 90, you can also get directly from Hauptplatz 24 (yellow house next to the Bständig) through the courtyard to the Wollerei. A little hidden in a residential building, you will find the entrance just inside the mezzanine. If you come from the Grazer Strasse 90, ring at the bell sign Wollerei.
We are in a residential building, there is no store recognizable from the outside!

Strong partners

An online store can work reliably only with strong partners.
Since the beginning we rely on the flexible open source store system Zen Cart in the background. With increasing accesses, the demands on the server hosting the store also become higher. In the provider All-Inkl we have an excellent partner for hosting our website since 2011 and can also offer you a secure shopping experience due to permanent SSL encryption.
GLS , Post , DPD and DHL Express transport our packages quickly and reliably to all countries.
Our payment providers Amazon Pay , Novalnet and PayPal allow us to offer a wide range of possible payment methods for you to choose from.

Expansion of assortment

We have greatly expanded our range in recent years. For us, the mass of articles is not the main focus. We carefully select the yarns that we include in the range and focus on premium yarns manufactured in Europe, which we can then also deliver quickly and reliably.
With the German manufacturer Atelier Zitron we have since 2014 completely in Germany produced yarns in the program, which are also all Ökotex 100, product class 1 certified.

Since the founding of the wool mill, we have been trying to expand our range of certified yarns and are also increasingly pleased to be able to supply fully GOTS certified yarns.

Service

We have also greatly expanded our service area on the website in recent years. For example, you will find the current color chart for each yarn and in our knitting gallery (menu item Designs) the matching models with detailed information on material consumption.
You can browse through our range of instruction booklets in stock to quickly see if the models in the booklet are of interest to you.
With yarns, you can also always find quick access to completed projects from knitters around the world on Ravelry .
Our loyalty program rewards regular customers with interesting discounts, and our newsletter holds the latest information about Zitron, Gedifra, Schachenmayr, and Austermann, as well as usually exclusive offers for newsletter subscribers.

Since May 2015 our online store is responsive, so the display adapts to your iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone, tablet or whatever device you use.
Since July 2023, we are online with a completely redesigned version.

Customer Feedback

Since 2021: ChiaoGoo and Tulip

Since 2021, we have greatly expanded our range of knitting and crochet needles. In addition to an extensive range from KnitPro and Prym, we now also have crochet hooks from the Japanese manufacturer Tulip and needle tips/ropes from the American manufacturer ChiaoGoo in our range!

Since 2023: Sesia

In March 2023, we added GOTS-certified organic cotton from Sesia to our program. We are thrilled with the quality of the yarns from this Italian manufacturer and will be adding more GOTS certified virgin wool yarns from Sesia to our lineup throughout the year.

Many of these changes have been integrated based on customer feedback and we always listen to your ideas.

More new functionalities are in the pipeline, we are not standing still!
