Felt is one of the oldest textiles in the world and was already used 2500 years ago by our ancestors to make clothing, living tents, carpets and objects.
Felt is lightweight, temperature balancing, wonderfully malleable and anti-static.
I have combined the techniques of wet and dry felting in my felt necklaces, making individual, distinctive beads.
The respective main color runs like a "red" thread through the design of each individual bead.
With the technique of needle felting and selected embroidery stitches I put further graphic elements on the beads.
This creates an exciting contrast to the soft, flowing color texture of the felt surface.
The felt beads are threaded on cotton, selected wood, glass, porcelain and resin beads at the end emphasize the respective style of the necklace.
The design and construction of the felt necklace also takes into account sensitive wearers: The places where there may be skin contact are made of cotton.
The necklace is held with a lobster clasp. The diameter of each bead varies from 0.8 to 2.2 cm.
