Ehmert Textilkunst is a small manufactory in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, where unique textiles and precious handicrafts such as hand-woven scarves and ponchos, caps, headbands, scarves and gloves made of organic cotton and woollen wallcoverings have been produced for 25 years. The main focus is on the development and production of fashion accessories and on the production of hand-woven fabrics on a 4-shaft loom.
For the production of hand-woven scarves and ponchos we use selected, special organic yarns such as organic cotton from Schachenmayr and exclusive premium yarns from Atelier Zitron, which are produced in Germany in an environmentally friendly way and in compliance with social standards. All scarves are unique and are made in different sizes.
Our current caps, headbands, scarves and gloves made of organic cotton fleece are GOTS certified. The material is slightly stretchy and fits well on different head sizes and feels very soft and cuddly.
A small part of the collection is felted.
Hand felted fabrics are used as leaf and circle symbols on headbands and caps made of woollen knitted fabric and also decorate the very popular wrist warmers.
Spiral caps are made of pure woollen wool fabric produced in Italy and are available in sizes from S to L. Slightly stretchy and especially warm, they provide excellent protection against wind and weather and guarantee a good fit.
Headbands made of polar fleece are preferred by people allergic to wool, are very warm, easy to care for and are available in many colours.
From our experimental area come pieces of jewelry such as handfelted necklaces and brooches.
The woolly beads of the felt chains are individually hand felted and then decorated. With the needle felting technique we create beautiful lines and small symbols like stars and dots.
The felted necklaces are completed with glass, wood and resin beads and are very skin-friendly and light due to the cotton cord.
